Hello scholars! Thank you to everyone who filled out my newsletter survey last week, it was immensely helpful. For the question on desired newsletter frequency, 76% of respondents like the newsletter the way it is (weekly) while 20% would prefer every two weeks. So for now, I’ll keep sending this out every Wednesday, but to accommodate that 20%, I’ll take more weeks off when needed. For example, I’ll be in the midst of TIFF on September 16, so I’ll reconvene the following week (with a newsletter about all the TV premieres1 I went to!).
The top three most popular types of newsletter were my Reflections/stream of consciousness TV thoughts (85%), my round-ups (78%) and in-depth reviews (71%). I was surprised to see interviews rank so low (44%)! Which just makes me think I need to be strategic about who I feature here.

do whatever makes your life easier. like for real! also at this point you could just link to your other writings for weeks that are less manageable. but i still read cover to cover.
i just think like everyone we are behind in our inboxes. i’m not reading the 30 substacks i’ve subscribed to. It’s just impossible but i do for some reason always prioritize yours. just know your opinion is valued.

Furious (Hulu) finale: Let me eat my words I guess
Someone commented on my Instagram post featuring Hulu’s Furious and said: “This show was catharsis for this country who really want the pedos held accountable.” It brought me back to a recent conversation that came up in TV Club a few months ago.2
