Reflections #20: Furious (Hulu) & Elsbeth (CBS)
Emmy Rossum's new show makes me want to watch Shameless for the first time.
In case you missed it: I wrote about being single and Tracee Ellis Ross’s solo traveling show in my column for The Cut; I interviewed Elle star June Diane Raphael; I curated a Telematrix grid that reminded folks Chloë Sevigny has actually done so much TV; and I interviewed the creator and cast of Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie for Yahoo. I love my job!
So what do New Girl, The Dropout, and Dying for Sex have in common? Well they’re each created by Elizabeth Meriwether, of course. She’ll also be writing the Britney Spears biopic. I think she’s become one of the most must-keep-up-with screenwriters in the industry, which is why I jumped to watch my screeners of her new show Furious, which starts streaming on Monday. I have thoughts. Let’s get into that (and why I have also become an Elsbethaholic lately).
