Hey telephiles,

It won’t stop raining where I am in British Columbia. It’s a constant deluge, to the point where it’s prompting some evacuations. Hopefully you’re somewhere dry, safe, and cozy, ready for some winter TV.

Sex and the City is back on December 9th, by the way. A non-stop rewatch would take you 1 day and 23 hours. I believe in you.

See below for my monthly new shows round-up, in your inbox every month on the 15th. xo.

5. Queens (ABC)
My score: 60/100

Queens is essentially Nashville meets Empire meets Girls5eva, starring Brandy, Eve, and Naturi Naughton as the fictional 90s rap group “Nasty Bitches,” reuniting after two decades apart. It’s quite soapy: husbands die spontaneously, mistresses turn out to be pregnant, feuds and grudges abound. But it’s quite fun in an ABC broadcast network kind of way (I forgot that ABC shows actually use lighting, I got used to squinting my eyes to watch Impeachment this season).

The music production is helmed by Swizz Beatz, who brings a surprisingly authentic 90s sound for some of Nasty Girls’ throwback hits. Watch if you don’t mind characters spontaneously breaking out into song.

4. Star Wars: Visions (Disney+)
