8. In the Know (Peacock)
My score: 68/100
Peacock’s foray into adult animation yields…fine enough results! This stop-motion comedy follows the small group behind a fictional niche NPR radio show which includes somewhat real interviews with various celebrities (I won’t spoil who pops in because it’s a nice little surprise).
The jokes are very specific to public radio, so I’m not sure if this will have any kind of broad appeal, but I had a few giggles and the voice cast is great (Caitlin Reilly! J. Smith-Cameron!). The main hurdle might be getting past a pretty insufferable protagonist. The last two of six episodes ends the season stronger than it started out, at least.
Is it gay? Actually, yes! There’s a bi jock character voiced by Charlie Bushnell. I felt pretty indifferent about that character though.
