To this “keep picking shows up and putting them back down — I think I’ve started a dozen shows in the last two weeks that I haven’t continued. I can’t decide if I’m having a television-related existential crisis or there really is just a lot of mediocre television right now (aside from the tentpole shows).” SAME what’s up with all the super terrible writing going on at the moment? Murder Bot? Yikes. The Studio? Oof. That Amy Palladino ballet nonsense? What is happening with these tv execs skipping over the good stuff and buying so much junk? I know there is so much good stuff being pitched. But so few good things seem to make the cut. Weird tv times.

Okay, 1. You wrote about Handmaid’s what I have sensed before this season even dropped: I just couldn’t stomach *more of the same,* and haven’t even tried starting. A disappointment after a series I found so gripping in its first 1-2 seasons. Definitely should have ended at least 2-3 seasons ago! 2. THANK YOU for writing about Couples Therapy. I don’t think I’ve seen it since one of its earlier seasons, and I’m not only SO thrilled to be reminded to return to it, but that SOMEONE is talking about how damn good it is! (Also as a mostly-single person in my history—I just find it so…human and fascinating.) And 3. Andor is my upcoming “treat” after a very exhausting home purchase and move recently. While I am sad to have a few spoilers dropped here (lol), I can’t tell you how excited I am to see an “A” grade and to hear that reviews, generally, are phenomenal. I was so scared the drop-off from that impeccable first season was going to be real. Can’t wait to watch…even if a lesbian dies mid-season :) Also—I will die on this hill: Tony Gilroy’s installments of Star Wars are THE best installments. Rogue One and Andor are masterpieces of the franchise. So is Rian Johnson’s middle installment of the most recent trilogy. This is an opinion that will start many-a-fight online. But, god, they’re so good. And you DON’T have to have watched the rest to watch any of these, really. They stand alone as just damn good filmmaking.

I enjoy the 3 episode binges of Andor. The Mon Mothma dance sequence was quite effulgent, I smiled... it was also giving LAURIE (White Lotus) emancipated, full release, letting go, dance solo.
